The working principle of the DE filter press is based on the principle of a porous filtration layer, or filter cake, of DE filter aid which sticks to the filter plates. The filter plates are covered with heavy duty polypropylene cloth. The porous filtration layer acts as a physical barrier to dirt particles, which are caught in the DE filter aid. By adding DE material to the dirty fluid during filtration an even and porous filter cake is build up. After the differential pressure, DP of 3.5 – 4 bar has been reached the cake needs to be removed from the plates. The dirt particles are then removed together with the DE filter aid.
The filter press is a fully equipped DE filter with all necessary auxiliaries. The drip free construction guarantees an environmentally friendly operation. The heavy-duty system is powered by a hydraulic system. The robust constructed unit is easy to operate and maintain. The filter press can be operated in single or twin configuration with one slurry mixing skid. The filter press is available in high flow design.
