KESMI offshore containers are designed, built and tested in compliance with strict international standards to ensure safety, durability, and reliability in harsh marine environments. Below are the key certifications and standards applicable to offshore containers:

  • DNV 2.7-1 (Det Norske Veritas). It is the Primary standardfor offshore containers in Europe and globally. It covers design, fabrication, testing, and certification and ensures structural integrity, lifting safety, and durability. The certificate is required for containers used in the oil & gas and offshore wind industries.
  • EN 12079 (European Norm).  It is similar to DNV 2.7-1 but specifically for European markets. It defines requirements for offshore containers, baskets, and pallets. The certificate includes testing for lifting sets, dynamic loads, and corrosion resistance.
  • ISO 10855 (International Organization for Standardization). It specifies requirements foroffshore containers handling with cranes and ensures safe lifting and securing during marine operations.
  • CSC certification is required for intermodal shipping containers (if used offshore). Ensures structural safety and proper markings.
  • Lloyd’s Register (LR). It is Certification for offshore containers, ensuring compliance with marine safety and quality standards. Often required in UK, Middle East, and Asia.
  • Oil & Gas Industry: Transporting drilling equipment, tools, and spare parts to offshore rigs and platforms; Storing hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, fuels) in certified containers; Accommodating living quarters or emergency shelters for crew.
  • Wind Energy (Offshore Wind Farms): Shipping turbine components (blades, nacelles, tower sections); Storing maintenance tools and spare parts for wind turbines; Providing temporary workspaces for technicians.
  • Marine & Shipbuilding: Moving heavy machinery and construction materials; Storing ship components during fabrication and repair.
  • Military & Defense: Deploying equipment for naval operations; Mobile command centers or medical units.
  • Subsea Operations: Transporting ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and diving equipment; Storing umbilical, cables, and subsea installation tools.
  • Emergency & Disaster Relief: Rapid deployment of medical supplies, food, and shelter; Mobile generator or water purification units.
