The decanter centrifuge work as the 4th phase in solids control system, where it will be called solids control centrifuge. In drilling waste management solutions, usually the Vertical cuttings dryer & high-speed centrifuge will form a line to treat the drilling cuttings to recover the valuable base mud, where the centrifuge will be called waste management centrifuge.

The decanter centrifuge work as the 4th phase in solids control system, where it will be called solids control centrifuge. In drilling waste management solutions, usually the Vertical cuttings dryer & high-speed centrifuge will form a line to treat the drilling cuttings to recover the valuable base mud, where the centrifuge will be called waste management centrifuge. The drilling cuttings discharged shaker firstly will be collected by a primary auger and transfer to the secondary auger, and then the cuttings will be feed to Vertical cuttings dryer via the secondary auger, where the solids above 0.25mm will be separated and drop to the discharge auger. The OBM effluent will be flow to a side holding tank and then be transferred to waste management centrifuge to remove the fine solids. After treatment by high-speed centrifuge, the effluent will flow back to the mud tank system for reuse. This is the close loop of drilling waste management.
Waste management centrifuge usually adopt big bowl big volume centrifuge to achieve a better performance, because the solids concentration in the VG effluent is much higher; usually a 14in or 18in centrifuge is recommended.
