Solids Control Equipment Delivery to Stock Listed Buyer

Solids Control equipment is general description of the mud treatment equipment working in oil drilling. The details of solids control including shale shaker, mud desander, mud desilter, mud centrifuges. Drilling waste management equipment is partial of solids control, including screw conveyors, high-G dryers, vertical cutting dryers. Recently, we finalized one big order of 5 containers solids control & drilling waste management equipment for one stock listed company. In this order, we need did some upgrades to make the equipment smarter and more user friendly.

Waste Management High-G Dryer (HG)

High G dryer is a type of shale shaker with High-G force to deal with water-based cuttings, to recover the WBM for reuse and remove the debris and cuttings. The High-G dryer is equipped with one hopper to receive the feeding WBM cuttings from shale shakers. And then the separation happens in the shaker screen mesh. The fine liquid go through the holes of the mesh and drop down to the catch tank. and the bigger solids cuttings will be conveyed forward out of the shaker.

We provided 5-panel High-G dryer in this order to help recover as much fluids as possible. This long deck shaker can also help to increase the dryness of the separated cuttings. It works better than 4-panel High-G dryers. We also have some unique designs for the High-G dryers which help outstanding of the HG dryer.

Drilling Waste Cuttings Dryer (VCD)

Drilling waste Vertical cuttings dryer is different design from HG dryer. The HG dryer maximum G-Force is less than 10G because of the deck design.  However, the Vertical cuttings dryer with 900RPM rotation speed can reach up to 420G force.

The VCD now is popular adopted in OBM cuttings/SBM cuttings/OSBM cuttings treatment and recovery. After treatment, the dried cuttings can be less than 5% in OOC and the VCD can recover the 95% valuable Oil-based mud or SBM. The recovered OBM/SBM can be further treated by Big volume mud centrifuge to further reduce the big solids content in the OBM/SBM.  After treatment by mud centrifuges, the clean mud can be pumped back to the mud tank system for reuse.

The dry cuttings separated by VCD can be collected by offshore mud skips for temporarily storage. And dozens of mud skips can be transported back to onshore by vessel. From there, the cuttings box will be sent to Thermal Desorption unit for final treatment.  We can also offer TDU for the treatment and reach the below 0.5% ash result.

Solids Control Decanter Centrifuge

Decanter centrifuge has wide applications in many industries, including oil drilling, mining tailing dewatering treatment, waste water treatment plant, municipal sewage treatment, River dredging and dewatering etc. In solids control application, the most popular size decanter centrifuge are 14in and 18in centrifuge. The 14in size centrifuge examples like Derrick DE1000FHD and DE1000GBD centrifuges, Swaco 518 and 518HV centrifuges, Brandt HS-3400 centrifuges etc. Our 14in size centrifuge model number KSLW363C-FS and KSLW363C-VFD centrifuges are also very popular. We have fixed speed centrifuge and VFD centrifuges to cater for the various requirements. The 18in centrifuges and 22in centrifuges are big bowl centrifuges which are popular for offshore applications with requirement of large capacity mud treatment. In the delivery order, it is 2sets of 18in big bowl centrifuges equipped with VFD Control panels. The VFD control panels we adopt Yaskawa brand VFDs with heavy load start functions; it can help start the centrifuge easily and better protect the VFDs. We also did lots of improvement in the design of the VFD control panels, make it more durable and robust for the harsh environmental use.

Mud transfer equipment

Mud transfer equipment is conveyors or pumps located between the main separation equipment. From shaker discharge to Vertical cutting dryer, screw conveyors are required to bridge them, to transfer the drilling cuttings to the inlet of the VCD. From VCD liquid tank to centrifuge, mono pump is required to bridge them to transfer the fluids and feed it to the centrifuge for further treatment.

With many years’ experience, and many times upgrade, our screw conveyor is very good design with heavy duty production materials, anti-wearing screw impellers and manual regulation speed gear drive. Now the screw conveyors are spreading in many oil drilling sites in various countries. The Mono pump is a brand of NOV; and we usually offer equal brand like Netzsch brand Nemo pump or equal Chinese brand pumps with cost performance price in pump as well as in the rotors and stators.

Centrifuge Skid and VG Skid

Skid is also very important in the working procedures. We design the skid with many considerations as follows:

  • Need to consider the overall dimensions for transportation. The skids also need to be loaded in 40ft containers for shipment. And we need to be sure of the size fit for the container loading.
  • The Centrifuge skid is telescopic skid. When the user needs to work it properly, the user needs to lift it up to about 4m heigh. In this height, the liquid separated by centrifuge can flow back to the mud tank system by gravity. The solids phase discharge by centrifuge can drop down to the mud skips via inclined chute or through a horizontal laid screw conveyor.  It is cheaper and easier with a inclined chute.
  • The Vertical cuttings dryer Skid should be not too higher, also not to lower.  If it is too high, it will affect the feed conveyor performance, make it difficult to convey the cuttings to the VCD.  If it is too lower, it will affect the beneath screw conveyor layout; it can be very difficult for the assembly and disassembly of the hoppers beneath the VCD as well. Besides, we also designed overhead crane in the platform of the VG skid, to help the maintenance of the VG without requiring truck crane or additional construction machinery.
